Please join us for a participatory planning process on broadband technology and community vitality in Leon, including group work sessions and networking that will result in an Action Plan. The planning process will be focused primarily around, but not limited to, the following topics:
Workshop Details: The community workshop will be held from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm on Wednesday, August 3 in the NE Room at the Leon Community Center (203 NE 2nd Street). There will be a community-wide meeting from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm following the workshop in the Square downtown.

Who: Stakeholders and community leaders, interested in making Leon a more connected community through the building and leveraging of your investment in broadband technology. Participants include representatives from community agencies, organizations, elected officials, residents, and a technical assistance team including representatives of EPA and USDA and other federal agencies as well as facilitators from Vita Nuova, LLC who have been contracted by the EPA to lead this engaging community planning process.
Background: In February 2016, the Decatur County Development Corporation submitted an application for technical assistance from the federal Cool and Connected Communities Initiative. Leon was one of the 5 communities selected from nearly 300 applicants to receive this expert assistance.
