Commercial Roof Coatings, LLC has been serving the Decatur County area since 1983.
Ivan Stoltzfus started his journey by working on his family farm until 1982, where he decided to do something on his own with his wife Darla. Stoltzfus and his wife then moved back to Leon, where his wife was originally from, with the intent on farming in 1983. Unfortunately for Stoltzfus, 1983 was the driest year on record. Stoltzfus established Commercial Roof Coatings LLC in 1983 with his first roof being 300 square foot at the former Leon Care Center (current Community Health Center of Southern Iowa, CHCSI).
One of the products Commercial Roof Coatings, LLC provides is urethane foam.
"Urethane foam is a unique product, you can create more or less thickness in areas on the roof...the coatings have proven to last 20 years, the longest roof being 22 years," Stoltzfus said.
Stoltzfus also provides services such as sealing side walls, foundations, etc.
Stoltzfus commented that most of the buildings they build are with materials from local lumber yards.
"I try to stay local with as much as I can...like banking and other products needed for roofing," Stoltzfus said.
In addition to buying as much as he can locally, Stoltzfus also supports and co-sponsors the Leon Rodeo and 4-H. Commercial Roof Coatings has also sprayed a roof at the fairgrounds.
In addition to Commercial Roof Coatings, Stoltzfus raises bucking bulls, under the business Stoltzfus Buckers, and attends events and competitions with them. Recently, one of his 2 year old bulls won World Champion Futurity in Las Vegas, NV.
Stoltzfus and his wife Darla have 3 daughters and one son.
Stoltzfus enjoys the annual fourth of July parade the chamber and rodeo committee co-host and generally drives one of his pick-ups with the company name on it through the parade.
To contact Ivan Stoltzfus at Commercial Roof Coatings you can generally reach him anywhere, but his hours are Monday-Saturday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. You can contact him at firstname.lastname@example.org or call him at 641-446-4686.
